The skipper of the Indian cricket team & the Chennai Super Kings IPL team captain MS Dhoni gets Rs. 34 crore insurance cover in IPL 4. This was provided by the Oriental Insurance Company and they have set Rs. 34 crore as the premium amount for the captain of the Indian cricket team and the Chennai Super Kings' personal accident cover.
This policy also covers medical emergencies, loss of baggage and travel risks. Such policies aren't new to Dhoni as last year he got a Rs. 10 crore insurance cover.
Other major teams have also got insurance cover; like Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers, Pune Warriors, Rajasthan Royals and Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Even the winners of IPL 2009 - Deccan Chargers – have got a cover of Rs. 98 crore. Indicating the high worth of the sport.
