Kate Winslet posed nude for new exhibition 'Todo o Nada' in Rome

Kate Winslet has bared it all again as she posed naked in front of the camera for photographer Mario Testino''s new exhibition 'Todo o Nada' in Rome.

The Titanic star, who had previously stripped off for Lancome cosmetics campaign, admitted that she could not say no to Testino when he approached her to feature in his upcoming art show.

"You know that his biggest strength without fail is making women look beautiful. When Mario turns to you and says, It's beautiful, but I think it would work better naked, no?'' How can one refuse?" the Sydney Morning Herald quoted the actress as saying.

"No matter what insecurities about oneself a subject may have, Mario makes them go away like a magician.

"One moment you are in the hair and make-up chair fully clothed and wishing you had smoother skin, longer legs and smaller feet and then Mario comes in and, in that charming way, he takes you by the hand and says, ''Don''t worry it''s going to be amazing," she added.

Film ‘Velayudham’ demands actor like Vijay

"The story of 'Velayudham' demanded only an actor with a larger-than-life image, like Vijay. So we have not made any compromise in the script to satisfy Vijay fans as his character in the film will itself be a delight to them," says 'Jayam' Raja, the director.

The filmmaker, who celebrated his birthday on the sets of 'Velayudham' on Tuesday, said, "However, Vijay has come out with some special styles and mannerisms which will be liked by one and all, especially women fans."

On the film's knot, Raja said, "It is a commonman's war against loopholes in the system. How the hero achieves his mission in brainy and brawny ways is what 'Velayudham' is all about. The movie will be racy from scene one"

"This is the most expensive Vijay film ever," the director informed and added: "So the Ilaya Thalapathi took extra efforts to ensure that all is well. Our thanks to the producer (Aascar V Ravichandran) for his tremendous support."

China bans its military from Social networking on Internet

China has banned its two-million strong military from using social networking and matchmaking websites "to prevent the leak of sensitive information".

Chinese soldiers have also been barred from using the Internet outside the army without permission.

The soldiers have been banned from using the Internet to make friends, as authorities seek to prevent sensitive information being revealed, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Daily reported.

The new rules also ban them from watching or listening to political programmes from overseas media.

A joint notice issued by the General Staff Headquarters and the General Political Department of the PLA said that the entire army and the People's Armed Police should tighten administration over the practice of soldiers making friends online.

The measures are aimed at preventing violations of law and to protect military information from being leaked, it said.

Sharapova reaches French Open semis to face Li Na

Maria Sharapova moved to within two wins of a career Grand Slam on Wednesday when she defeated Germany's Andrea Petkovic 6-0, 6-3 to reach her second French Open semifinal.

The seventh seed, who next faces Li Na, the Chinese sixth seed, for a place in the final, also ended Petkovic's hopes of becoming the first German in the last four in Paris since Steffi Graf in 1999.

Sharapova, a semifinalist in 2007, was in unstoppable form in the first set, breaking in the first, third and fifth games before taking the opener 6-0 with the Russian allowing the German just seven points on her serve.

The Russian star, who needs a French Open title to become just the 10th woman to complete a career Grand Slam, hit deep, pinpoint winners off both flanks.

Petkovic, who had defeated Sharapova to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal in Australia in January, was quickly 0-2 down in the second set before she stopped the rot, finally getting on the scoreboard after 51 minutes.

The 23-year-old then levelled at 2-2 with her first break of the match but Sharapova, playing with a rare freedom of movement on a surface which has caused her numerous problems in the past, clawed back the break for a 3-2 lead.

Petkovic then broke for 3-3 after a lengthy sixth game, but former world number one Sharapova, who had been a set and 1-4 down against French teenager Caroline Garcia in the second round, once again summoned her famed fighting spirit.

She retrieved the break to lead 4-3 and held for 5-3.

Sharapova went to two match points in the ninth game with another booming forehand and claimed victory when Petkovic dumped a tired forehand into the net.
