Bollywood music director Ismail Darbar has now claimed that music director AR Rahman and others bought their Oscar for the Danny Boyle movie 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
He however offered no proof to back his allegation.
"I have heard that the Oscar awards are often bought by artists. I never understood how 'Slumdog Millionaire' received the Oscar. I know that it was bought by the recipients," said Ismail Darbar.
It remains to be seen whether or not this could be a case of sour grapes.
The Dev Patel and Freida Pinto starrer 'Slumdog Millionaire' swept eight Oscars in 2009, in the categories of Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Original Song, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Cinematography and Best Adapted Screenplay.
AR Rahman bagged two Oscars for the movie in the categories of Best Original Song and Best Original Score.
