However, this time the event promises to be a more domestic affair in comparison to the previous inaugural ceremonies which had many international artists performing.

Among the many highlights of the event, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan will perform along with South Indian heart throb Shriya Saran on some super hit Tamil tracks like 'Naakka Mukka', 'Ringa Ringa' and 'Appadi Podu'.

Apart from this, the IPL opening ceremony will also feature performances by Taufiq Qureshi who will be opening the show with a tabla performance, followed by the UK based singer Raghav who's set to perform to 'Angel Eyes'.

Further Kunal Ganjawala will be singing 'World Hold On' from Mission Istanbul, while Manasi Scott, Akriti Kakad and Sona Mahapatra will be rendering the track 'Aa Dekhe Zara' together.

Another attraction will be Sunidhi Chauhan who will render the track 'Ainvayi Ainvayi' from the film Band Baaja Baraat, 'Dhoom Machale', 'Dance Pe Chance' and of course her latest single with Enrique 'Heartbeat'.

Teamwork, skill and entertainment - will be the three themes on which all the performances will be based of the inaugural ceremony.
