"What is Love?" the student asked.
The teacher said, "In order to answer your question, go to the corn
field and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you
can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick the one you
left behind."
The student went to the field, goes thru the first row and sees one
big corn, but wonders that may be there is a bigger one ahead.
Then he saw another bigger one but he thought may be there is still
a bigger one waiting for him.
Later, when he was about to finish the corn field, he realized that
the remaining corns are not as big as the previous ones he saw. He
knew he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted.
So he ended up empty handed and went back to the teacher.
The teacher told him, "this is love.. you keep looking for a better
one, but when later you realize, you have already missed the person.."
*"What is marriage then?" the student asked.
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the
sunflower field and choose the biggest sunflower and come back. But
the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to
pick the one you left behind."
The student went to the sunflower field. This time he is careful not
to repeat the previous mistake. When he reached the middle of the
field, he picked up a medium sized sunflower that he felt satisfactory
and came back to the teacher.
The teacher told him, "this time when you brought a sunflower, you
looked for the one that you felt is just nice, you had faith and
believed this is the best one you can get.. this is marriage."
