4 Girls rescued from flesh trade

CHENNAI: Four women hailing from different states and forced into flesh trade under the guise of cinema opportunities were rescued here, police said today.

Two women each from West Bengal and one from Karnataka and Tamul Nadu were rescued from a house at Velachery here yesterday, a CB-CID release here said.

Three pimps hailing from Andhra Pradesh, identified as Rajesh, Narasimha Moorthy and Sathya, and Rajivdoss of Orissa were arrested after a team of anti-trafficking cell (ATC) of the CB-CID wing raided the premises, the release said.

The victims were lured into the profession by promising opportunities in the cinema, it said, adding, the pimps were remanded to judicial custody and the women sent to a government home.
