Australian batsman Michael Clarke has sought Ricky Ponting's advice to improve his footwork and stroke play.
Aussie vice-captain Clarke wants his skipper help him overcome his batting flaws as they are set to play the second Ashes Test against England at Adelaide Oval.
After a disappointing show in Monday's drawn Gabba Test, Clarke made a conscious effort by spending extra time at the nets under Ponting's supervision and coach Tim Nelson on Wednesday.
"I was just working on a few things and obviously Punter's (Ponting) seen me bat for a long time now through my career and picks things up at training," Clarke told reporters.
Clarke wanted Ponting to have a look at his stroke play and help him improve it. Ponting recommended Clarke to stand a bit taller and see if it worked. Clarke believed that English bowling was pretty intelligent and his foot work was not up to the mark during the Gabba test.
"I thought they bowled pretty well, pretty good areas, there was a little bit in the wicket and Jimmy Anderson was through a pretty good spell," Clarke said.
Clarke who has an incredible batting record at Adelaide wants to leave no stones unturned to be able to score against the mighty English bowling attack.
