Ford India Sales Up By Three-Fold At 7,504 Units In Nov

Ford India has shown three-fold increase in its sales at 7,504 units during November, the company said. The company attributes its increased sales to the Figo model, which pushed the overall sales.

Ford's statement said that it had sold 58,000 units of Ford Figo till November 2010 since its launch in March this year.

"This has been an outstanding year for Ford in India. It is also extremely encouraging to see the Figo resonating with so many Indian customers and gratifying to see them on India's roads," Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said in a statement.

During January-December 2010, Ford India has made impressive sales of 79,586 units as against 27,906 units in the like period last year, the company said.

Headquartered in Chennai, Ford India is the six largest car manufacturer in the country. Some of its well-known models include Ikon, Fiesta and Endeavour. In India, Ford competes with Hyundai, Tata, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra and Chevrolet.
