The Australian Formula One driver received the award at the BRDC's annual awards ceremony in London. He had been named as the winner last month.
Webber pipped World Touring Car driver Andy Priaulx to the top award - but only after Priaulx fell foul of the officials at Okayama at the end of the season, meaning he lost points in the BRDC points standings.
IndyCar Series winner Dario Franchitti, who won the Indianapolis 500 in 2010, saw his achievement recognised as he was presented with a 'special' Gold Star.
The Scot also won the Earl Howe Trophy for his Indy500 heroics.
Meanwhile, British Touring Car Championship driver Gordon Shedden received the club's highest accolade for national racing, the Silver Star.
Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button collected the Graham Hill (for the most meritorious performance by a Briton in single-seater racing) and ERA Club (for the most meritorious performance of the year outside the UK by a Briton in a British car) trophies respectively.
Among the other winners was Red Bull's Adrian Newey, who received the Sir Jackie Stewart Award, presented to a motor sport engineer who has shown brilliance during the course of the season.
Stewart himself was awarded a BRDC Gold Medal for his "exceptional contribution to the club and motor racing".
