ICC Cricket World Cup 2011: Matches not to shift from Bangladesh - ICC

ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat today described the attack on the West Indies team bus by angry Bangladesh fans at Mirpur as a minor incident and ruled out moving matches out of Bangladesh as robust security arrangements were made for the World Cup.

West Indies won the match in a canter, bundling out Bangladesh for a record low score of 58 and knocked off the runs in just 12.2 overs at Mirpur in Bangladesh yesterday.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the incident, in which the windscreens of the bus, carrying the West Indies team, was damaged in the attack, did not justify any game to be moved out of Bangladesh.

''Police have made some arrests and robust security measures were put in place. The ICC will see that the tournament goes on as per the schedule'', he said, ruling out shifting of any of the remaining matches out of Bangladesh following the incident.
